One of most historical hotels in Happo area
Hotel Taigakukan is one of most historical hotels in Happo area. The hotel with Hakuba Happo Onsen (hot spring) has harmonious fusion of alpine atmosphere and Japanese-style relaxation unique to Hakuba mountain resort.
As the hotel name shows (Taigaku has a meaning of facing mountains in Japanese), Taigakukan is located on a place facing Northern Alps, and it commands a stunning view of mountains and Hakuba Happo-one. Besides, the place is very accessible, and it is three-minute-walk from Happo Bus Terminal and four-minute-walk from Nakiyama area.
The public big bath has the indoor and open-air baths and the sauna. The natural hydrogen hot spring has anti-aging effect and quality and warmth of the woods give a luxury relaxing time and make the guests feel themselves compelled to stay for a long time.
Guestrooms were renovated recently. “Western-Japanese-style room (Goryu)” in January 2017 and “Western-Japanese-style room (Hakuba)” in January 2018 are opened newly.

Fireplace built of brick, the bar with many famous and local liquors and old skis and mountaineering items collected by three generation are making the atmosphere more relaxing.
By the way, Taigakukan had participated in filming of the movie, “Giniro no Season”, released in 2008. It appears in the movie as “Hotel Hanamizuki”.
