Tsugaike REPORT

2023.10.06-cm / Light Rain

A cold wave has brought the first snowfall of the season to the HAKUBA VALLEY, at elevations above 1,800m. In the Tsugaike area, the Tsugaike Nature Park, which is located at an average elevation of around 1,900m, recorded its first snowfall a full 13 days earlier than last year. Although I was unable to reach the area due to the gondola and ropeway services being suspended in the morning as a result of strong winds, I was still able to see the white-colored peaks of Mt. Hakuba Norikura (pictured, top right) and Mt. Korenge (pictured, top center) rising above the ski slopes.
