The Nozawa Onsen Takenoko Matsuri, or Bamboo Shoot Festival, will be held this year from 6/12 (Fri.) to 6/21 (Sun.). Food stalls along the nostalgic back alleys behind Kawahara-yu will serve a variety of dishes featuring nemagaridake (a wild spring bamboo shoot). To coincide with the festival, Nozawa Onsen Ski Resort will also be conducting a special spring operation of the Nagasaka Gondola.
