After four straight days of sunshine from 9/30 (Wed.) through 10/3 (Sat.), we’ve had another stretch of clear weather from 10/8 (Thu.) through 10/11 (Sun.), with especially beautiful skies each morning. With the October three-day weekend in full swing, the area outside the gondola summit station (pictured), HAKUBA MOUNTAIN HARBOR, and the Yoo-Hoo! Swing were all bustling with visitors. Most Yoo-Hoo! Swing tickets had already sold out by around 11 a.m.

HAKUBA MOUNTAIN HARBOR (pictured) offered sweeping views of the Ushiro-Tateyama Range framed by fall colors spreading across the mountainsides. Once the season’s first snow reaches the peaks, Iwatake’s famous “three-tiered fall colors” will be complete, with white along the ridgeline, autumn foliage across the middle slopes, and green at the base. The line for photos at the end of the terrace stretched all the way back past the Glacier Deck.

Hakuba Hitotoki-no-Mori, with its broad grassy lawn, is another outstanding spot for views of the Hakuba Sanzan peaks and the surrounding Ushiro-Tateyama Range. A steady line formed at the new Hitotoki Photo Frame, while Scenic Relaxation Yoga (※free to join) began beside it at 10:30 a.m., adding even more activity to the area.

At the horseback riding area behind Skyark, visitors were enjoying not only the popular Lead-Rein Horse Riding Experience (※¥3,000, 220 m per lap), but also Horse Trekking this morning (pictured, reservations required, 60 minutes ¥22,000). The fall scenery is especially beautiful when viewed from horseback at this time of year!
