HAKUBA OUTDOOR FES 2024 is being held at the base area of Hakuba47 (pictured) today and tomorrow, starting at 8:00 a.m, and features test-ride events (free of charge, ID required), outdoor equipment exhibitions, sales of handmade accessories, food trucks, and much more. I spoke with a snowscoot staff member (pictured), who said, “We’re offering one-point lessons for first-timers. Come visit us!”

I also had a conversation with staff members of the snowboard brand REGALIA (pictured), with one of them telling me he was a fan of Snownavi, and adding, “Meradue” (pictured, second from left) is Regalia’s first round board and the graphic is of Mt. Goryu. MATSU from the group EXILE is also a fan of this board.” 21 boards in total were available to test, including 23-24 models and 2 models for next season.

The snowboard brand TERROR (pictured), which only became available in Japan this season, also has a booth. Others include APEX Snowboard, MOSS SNOWBOARDS, SCOOTER, VIRUS snowboard, and others, for a total of 11 brands! Furthermore, the “Lift Ticket Refund Campaign” will take place at 2:30 p.m. today, and “47 Attakaine” starts at 1:00 p.m. tomorrow.

This morning there were clear skies with intermittent strong gusts of wind. The groomed lower part of Route 8 (pictured) was easy to ski, with a moderately firm surface at the beginning that loosened up across the middle to the end of the run. Routes 5, 6, and 7 were also groomed with slushy, granular snow. Use of the mid to end section of the lower part of Route 1 was restricted due to the 47 Cup being held there.
