Just like yesterday, it was another day with calm, sunny weather. I spoke with two guests living in Hakuba Village (pictured) who told me, “We always read your reports. We came to Hakunori to have some fun on the cross course. Both the cross course and the groomed runs are in great shape this morning, and very easy to board.” The Rabbit Course (pictured) was groomed into a well-packed, moisture-rich snow surface.

Further down, the Wakaguri Central Slope also offered a moderately firm, moisture-rich groomed base. A snowboarder from Wakayama Prefecture (pictured), whom I met just as they were dropping into the Hakunori Cross Course, said, “I always read your reports. Thanks for posting a photo of me the other day. There was a bit of fresh snow along the No. 11 Pair yesterday—it was a lot of fun.”

On the Satomi Central Slope (pictured) and the Satomi Ridge Course, the moderately firm, moisture-rich groomed surface had begun to take on a slightly damp texture as the morning progressed. On Satomi Central, students from Kyoto Institute of Technology (pictured) were hard at work practicing formation skiing ahead of the National Student Ski Competition (Technical Skiing Division), to be held at Iwatake.

I had a conversation with an Australian family (pictured) who told me, “Our three-year-old daughter has started skiing and seems to be having a great time. It takes all three of us—Dad, Mom, and Grandma—to keep up with her!” On 2/23 (Mon., holiday), the popular Anglerfish cutting demonstration, which was previously held on 1/25 (Sun.), will take place again in front of Snow Drop.
