The Morishita Jintan 2026 Osaka Hakunori Mogul Satomi Event is currently taking place, running from 3/6 (Fri.) to 3/8 (Sun.). I spoke with an event staff member who told me, “We originally planned to hold the event on the Satomi Central Slope, but because the snowpack has gotten thin we moved the venue to the Rabbit Course (pictured). Right now the moguls are moderately firm and skiing well.”

I also had a chat with a group of five skiers from Gifu and Aichi (pictured) who commented, “We usually train at Takasu Snow Park. We’re going to do our best and try to win!” This morning, the Rabbit Course was groomed with moderately firm corn snow, and topped with about 3 cm of wet new snow. A lift attendant added, “It actually rained last night and the snow started early this morning.”

The Satomi Central Slope (pictured) was groomed with moderately softened corn snow, and about 2 cm of wet new snow on top. I ran into a couple from Osaka (the pair in green and yellow on the right) who told me, “We always read Snownavi. We used up the last of the Hakunori advance discount lift tickets we bought through Snownavi today. We hadn’t skied here in two weeks, and we were shocked by how much the snow has melted.”

The upper half of the Highway Course was groomed with firm corn snow, while the lower half of Highway, Kamoshika, and the Wakaguri Central Slope were groomed with moderately firm corn surfaces. In all cases the light topping of about 3 cm of wet new snow didn’t slow things down, and the skiing remained smooth and enjoyable. Light snow continued falling through the morning, while up high the mountain alternated between patches of fog and brief clearings.
