The morning started off calm with plenty of cloud cover. HAPPO PARKS (pictured) will be closed for re-shaping work, from 2/18 (Wed.) to 2/20 (Fri.), ahead of the Grand Opening on 2/21 (Sat.). Inside the park, the surface was moderately firm groomed wet snow with a powdery feel. The Kita-One forest road and Sakka Wave had well-set groomed wet snow, while the groomed Sakka Slope had a moderately firm wet snow surface.

As the skies began to clear, I headed to OAKLEY TERRACE, a spot I’d been meaning to visit. On sunny days and on weekends between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., “HAPPO SUMMIT MUSIC” is held here. The terrace kiosk (pictured) sells drinks including Heineken (¥800), chu-hai (¥1,000), Jägermeister (¥700), Red Bull (¥500), and Evian (¥400).

The clouds that had been clinging to the ridgeline gradually lifted, revealing not only the village below but also the Northern Alps and peaks to the north. The combination of sweeping views, an international crowd, and upbeat music created a lively atmosphere that almost felt like a resort abroad. A fire pit (pictured, center) is also lit on colder days, making it easy to warm up while relaxing.

At the DJ booth (pictured), multiple DJs—including BACK4, KOI POND, and SHEPPY—rotate appearances day by day. Admission is free for everyone, making it a convenient meeting point as well. In addition, the giant OAKLEY logo has become a popular photo spot.
