RHYTHM JAPAN hosted the “Yukimi Film Festival” at Bears Cafe inside Snow Plaza Sakka at 6:00 p.m. on 3/14 (Sat.). A staff member told the crowd at the beginning, “We received many great film submissions again this year. Please enjoy the show.” By 6:00 p.m. the venue was completely packed, and when the screenings finished, the room erupted in loud applause.

Also this weekend, a snowboard demo event organized by GARAGE902 was held at HAPPO PARKS on 3/15 (Sun.). GARAGE902 owner Kitae-san (pictured) told me, “These are the boards I recommend the most. Please stop by our shop.” HAPPO PARKS will also host the “HAPPO LINES 2026 Final Party” here on 3/20 (Fri., holiday).

This morning, the Kurobishi Slope (pictured) was wrapped in fog, and I ran into a group of four visitors from Tokyo and Kanagawan who told me, “We always read your reports. The snow is so easy to ski today—it’s a surprisingly good day!” The run along the Kurobishi Quad had well-set groomed wet snow with a powder-like feel. The Skyline Course featured a similar snow surface overall, but a few icy patches appeared in places.

On the Nakiyama Public Course (pictured), the surface had softened into loose, slushy snow. About two-thirds of the slope was roped off for the “Kids Ski Technical Competition” hosted by the Hakuba Happo-One Ski & Snowboard School. One fifth-grade competitor told me, “I fell last year, but this year I made it down without falling. I want to compete again next year!”
