Happo-one REPORT

2026.03.30160 cm / Mostly Sunny

Resort access roads at the foot of the HAKUBA VALLEY are now completely clear of snow, making for easy, comfortable access to the ski areas. In fact, even though it’s still March, I’ve started wondering whether it’s time to switch from winter tires to normal ones. Hazy, spring-like conditions brought on-and-off sunshine, with the views off in the distance looking a bit washed out.
[Panorama Course]

The Panorama Course (pictured) had groomed granular snow that was already loose and soft from the start. Snow coverage remained solid all the way to the bottom (pictured), and the grooming was excellent, which made me want to do laps on repeat before the surface got too chopped up. I met a man from Kanagawa who told me, “I always read your reports. Thank you for your help the other day, and thanks to you helping me send out good energy, my friend was able to leave the hospital.”

The south-facing route on Usagidaira also had loose, soft granular groomed snow, while along the Kurobishi Quad (pictured), the groomed granular snow was slightly less soft than on Panorama and Usagidaira. On the ungroomed runs along the Kurobishi 3 Pair and the Alpen Quad, medium- to large-sized moguls had formed, with the surface just soft enough to keep them skiable.

The Skyline Course (pictured) started the day with a slightly soft granular groomed surface that became progressively looser the farther down I went. By the way, the “BLASTRACK & OGASAKA SKI 26–27 NEW MODEL TEST RIDE” will be held around the Usagidaira Terrace from 4/3 (Fri.) through 4/5 (Sun.), and the “HAPPO-ONE SPRING FESTIVAL 2026” will take place on 4/5 (Sun.) as well!
