Summer Info
The weather has turned out better than forecast on quite a few days since 9/18 (Fri.). This morning was another example. Despite a forecast for plenty of clouds, we ended up with perfect autumn weather. When the Yoo-Hoo! Swing (pictured) opened at 9 a.m., visitors quickly began gathering, calling out things like, “What an incredible view! This feels amazing!” and “It feels like you’re swinging straight out into the scenery!”

The strong sun still felt hot, but a gentle southerly breeze kept things cool and comfortable, making it perfect weather for outdoor activities. At the popular Mountain Carts (pictured), riders received a quick briefing from the staff before speeding off down the course with excited shouts.

I met a family from Ishikawa Prefecture (pictured), who told me, “We often ski at Happo in winter and bring our dog to Iwatake in summer. We were actually planning to come yesterday, but the weather looked better today, so we took the day off and changed our plans.” Visitors can also relax in the tipi tent while watching the flames flicker in the fire pit.

HAKUBA MOUNTAIN HARBOR was bustling as well. I met a family from Niigata Prefecture (pictured), who told me, “We rode the buggy before coming here. The views really are incredible!” Their older son added, “We came to Hakuba for the spectacular views, thrilling activities, and great food. We’re looking forward to dinner at the hotel too!”
