HAKUBA OTHER REPORT

2026.08.01Hakuba Activities / Sunny

Hakuba Village offers a refreshing escape from the summer heat, not only high in the mountains but also at the foot of the valley, at an elevation of around 700 meters. Hakuba Himekawa Rafting brings you face-to-face with the icy snowmelt flowing down from the Northern Alps. Near the end of the course, after the river merges with the Matsukawa, the current quickens and the waves grow higher (pictured), taking the excitement to another level. Experience the rush, the suspense, and the shared sense of achievement that comes from tackling each challenge together. (※Photographed on 7/16/2026.)

The Tethered Hot-Air Balloon Ride is another signature feature of summer activities in Hakuba, and makes the most of the cool early-morning air. Rising approximately 30 meters above the ground (pictured), the balloon offers around five minutes of spectacular views before touching back down. From the clear morning sky, passengers can look out across the magnificent Northern Alps and the beautiful Hakuba townscape below. (※Operates every morning from 6 a.m. between 7/19 [Sun.] and 8/31 [Mon.]! Photographed on 7/20/2026.)

Set beneath the cool shade of the trees, Hakuba EX Adventure offers two courses: the Signature Course (pictured), featuring thrilling heights and a series of challenging obstacles, and the Family Course, designed so that beginners and young children can join in with confidence. The site is also home to EX Bungee “Tobisai,” which launches participants from a platform 10 meters above the ground! (※Photographed on 7/19/2026.)

Fed almost entirely by spring water, the remarkably clear waters of Lake Aoki provide an idyllic setting for Lake Aoki Canoe (pictured) and SUP Rentals. Those who feel less confident heading out on their own can instead join the guided Lake Aoki Raft Picnic. During summer, a floating adventure course also appears beyond the dedicated pier, giving children and their families another way to enjoy the water together. (※Photographed on 7/6/2025.)
