RHYTHM MTB opened last year at the Happo intersection. In addition to mountain bike rentals, lessons, and cycling tours, the shop carries a range of MTB apparel and accessories. (In winter, it operates as OYUKI, stocking ski and snowboard apparel and accessories.) Its convenient location also makes it an easy place to drop into while shopping around the area.

Other shops near Hakuba Station include roundAbout and Hakuba Sports. In winter, roundAbout (pictured) serves as a MOSS SNOWSTICK test center and carries almost the brand’s entire lineup, while in summer the focus shifts to YOW surfskates. A staff member I spoke with told me, “We have demo boards available, so feel free to stop by and try one. We can also help with skateboard maintenance and setup, or anything else you would like to ask us about.”

After so much walking, we stopped for a break at the cafe on the second floor of THE NORTH FACE GRAVITY HAKUBA. The area around Hakuba Station is also home to a diverse collection of independent cafes, including Coffee Senju, Cafe Momokka, HAKUBA COFFEE STAND, Cafe Fujiya, Focaccino, and Goldy’s. In addition, the Starbucks inside Snow Peak LAND STATION HAKUBA, where we began our shopping tour, opens at 7 a.m. every morning.

Sakura Real Estate is currently building a new four-story headquarters opposite Hakuba Station, with completion scheduled for November 2026. The second through fourth floors will house accommodation operated by The Hakuba Company, while the ground floor is set to welcome a 24-hour 7-Eleven and Burton, the world-renowned snowboard brand. With these new additions, shopping around Hakuba Station is set to become even better this winter!
