The snow park (pictured) at Kandatsu currently features a layout of 21 items. Careful maintenance and grooming have kept the park in excellent shape, and the well-set groomed surface—firm snow with a touch of granular mixed in—made it feel easy to enter the park and hit the elements. Furthermore, a mogul lane now runs down Regulus as visible in the far left of the photo, and a hike-up park is also set up on the south side of MID BASE.

Today, I met a freestyle skier from Gunma (pictured) who told me, “I like this park because the features are just the right size. Another plus is that the lift (the 4-seater B Lift) is fast, so it’s easy to keep lapping the park.” The setup also includes banks, hips, and waves, so even I, who can’t hit jumps, was still able to have a good time.

Procyon (pictured) and Regulus were both groomed into firm, wet snow surfaces. As one skier passed by, he called out, “I always check Snownavi!” A banked slalom course set up on the skier’s right side near the top of Regulus will soon host the “BANKED SALOMON” event on 3/22 (Sun.).

After skiing this morning, I headed to the natural hot spring bath “Kami-no-Yu,” located on the 4th through 6th floors of the six-story GROUND BASE. In addition to the spacious indoor bath, the facility includes a great sauna (pictured) and a covered outdoor bath where you can soak while enjoying the snowy scenery. (※The 2-hour pass costs ¥1,300 on weekdays and ¥1,500 on weekends and holidays. Nap-room passes are also available: ¥5,000 for adults and ¥2,000 for elementary school students.)
