Spring discount rates start at NASPA on 3/23 (Mon.), with one-day tickets priced at JPY5,000 for adults and JPY3,300 for elementary school students and younger. In related news, the A Course and D Course will close tomorrow, and from then through the final day on 3/31 (Tue.), all five lifts will remain in operation while six runs—B, C, E, F, G, and H—stay open. From the start of the day today, the F Course (pictured) was groomed with a granular surface that had already softened, and no exposed dirt or brush was visible.

Early on, a gusty northerly wind brought alternating sun and cloud, but after around 9:00 a.m., longer stretches of sunshine took over (pictured). Visitor numbers began to build around that time, mainly families, creating a lively three-day weekend atmosphere.

First thing in the morning, the G Course (pictured) offered well-packed groomed granular snow. There was some exposed grass on the skier’s left side near the top, and two small areas of exposed dirt on the steep pitch near the bottom. Both were easy to avoid, and the wide slope made it easy to open things up and ski freely.

NASPA’s ski rentals use a “Brand Buffet” system (pictured). A wide range of gear is available to match different body types and skill levels, and both skis and outerwear can be swapped as many times as you like. The skis are also tuned using the state-of-the-art JUPITER-X machine (a full set including skis, boots, and poles costs JPY6,000 per day for adults and JPY5,000 for elementary school students and younger).
