Clear skies, clean air, and the beautiful views made for a classic spring ski day today. A lift operator commented, “It’s going to warm up today!” On the Grand Prix Course (pictured), the ungroomed areas showed some dirty snow, but the groomed surface remained clean and white, with good glide and spring conditions.

Riding the Grand Prix Course with sharp, precise carving turns was Furihata, a rider for OGASAKA Snowboards (pictured). He told me, “I came out today with friends from the Kurohime Snowboarding School, where I ride. The surface has softened, but it still feels great out there.”

I had a chat with a staff member at Alps 360 (pictured, far right) who commented, “Starting 4/5 (Sun.), we’ve added a strawberry parfait and a cherry blossom parfait to the menu. If you follow Snownavi, be sure to stop by and try one during a break.” Early in the morning, the Panorama Course was freshly groomed and had softened into moderate spring granular snow. By around 10:00 a.m., the surface had loosened further into loose granular snow, and small undulations had begun to form across the surface.

On the western line of the upper section of Route 8, the banked slalom course used in a recent event remains in place. Advanced riders moved through the banks with smooth, rhythmic flow, which stood out. Also, the “Gelande Clean Act 2026” event will be held on the Hakuba 47 side on 4/12 (Sun.).
