Hokushin & Myoko Others REPORT

2025.07.26Alpen Blick MTB Park / Overcast

Since last summer, the Alpen Blick MTB Park has added one more course to its lineup, resulting in a total of 7 courses. Visitors ride in an air-conditioned minibus while their bikes are transported by truck to the top of the park (pictured) with service runnig every 30 minutes between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. From the starting point, riders are treated to breathtaking panoramic views of Mt. Madarao and Lake Nojiri.

The Pump Line (pictured) is a winding course that blends elements of a pump track with an obstacle-style adventure, featuring log crossings and narrow bridges. I met a rider from Nagano’s Okaya City (pictured), who commented, “I always follow your reports! I usually ride at Fujimi Panorama, and this is my first time at Ikenotaira.” After exiting the final berm, going straight will lead you to the beginner-friendly Going Green course, while turning left and climbing a short hill brings you to the entrances of the Flow Trail and Single Track runs.

The most popular course, the Flow Trail (pictured), was smooth and well maintained, just like the other trails, allowing for a carefree ride without having to worry about roots or other obstacles. On the advanced-level Single Track (pictured), I enjoyed a fast-paced downhill run through the forest starting at the midpoint. Both courses were shaded by trees, offering a cool and refreshing ride through the woods.

A rider from Joetsu City in Niigata Prefecture (pictured, center) shared, “I always follow your reports! The course lengths at Ikenotaira are just right, making it enjoyable and accessible for everyone.” Around the base area, you’ll find the Skill Up Park, a flat grassy slope marked with flags for practicing fundamentals, as well as the CAFE & RESTAURANT KAYABA, which houses the reception and rental counters.
