While National Route 18 was shrouded in fog, I broke through the clouds as I climbed higher toward the Myoko Kogen Visitor Center, revealing a magnificent view of Mt. Myoko (2,454 m, pictured). On this day, 11/4 (Tue.), the Ikenotaira Onsen Alpen Blick Ski Resort received its first snowfall of the season. The rippled surface of Imori Pond reflected the snow-covered Mt. Myoko and the last of the autumn foliage, creating a striking seasonal contrast.
