If you fell in love with Nasuki at the “Haruyama Festival,” we have some good news for you! Today, two new “Nasuki UFO Catcher” (crane game) machines were installed on the 3rd floor of the Nagasaka Center House next to the Nagasaka Gondola base station (※ ¥100 per play). I gave it two tries after finishing my report but couldn’t win anything. I’ll be back for another try soon.

As I approached the top gondola station, the sight of the freshly covered white slopes got me excited. “It kept snowing through the day yesterday, and some areas picked up as much as 15 cm,” a patrol staff member I met early in the morning told me. A skier from Kanagawa I met on the Yamabiko Slope D Course added, “I always read your reports. I was surprised by the fresh snow—it felt especially fantastic first thing this morning.”

That D Course offered groomed, moderately firm wet snow (not granular). I rode the Yamabaiko Four with a couple (husband pictured) from the Kansai region who said, “We always read your reports. It’s a weekday so the slopes are quiet, and with this weather and snow, it’s just perfect.” Around the snowmaking machines, I could see places where machine-made snow had been added to the surface.

The Yamabiko Slope A Course also had groomed, moderately firm wet snow, similar to the D Course. However, by around 9:00 a.m., the surface had already started to turn slightly moist. A resort staff member told me, “Starting 4/4 (Sat.), we’ll begin the ‘Spring e-Snow Bike Tour.’ The route runs from the Uenotaira Slope through the Bunabayashi course and down to the Yunomine Slope, then back again. It’s a lot of fun—Snownavi readers, please come check it out!” (※ A standard driver’s license, moped license, or motorcycle license is required.)
