A light dusting of snow—less than a centimeter—was observed today, 10/28 (Tue.), at the Shibutoge Ski Area, where the slopes were beautifully adorned in rime ice. “It rained last night, but we’re hoping the coming cold snap brings more snow. We’ll do our best to be ready for our 11/8 (Sat.) opening,” said a staff member from the Yokoteyama–Shibutoge Ski Area. Despite the -5°C temperature, I was amazed to see so many photographers gathered for photos at Japan’s highest national highway point (2,172 m).
