Kandatsu REPORT

2025.11.1940 cm / Mostly Sunny

This recent heavy snowfall really highlighted the terrain features that make Kandatsu Snow Resort famous for the amount of snow that falls and how well it holds. In fact, around the top of the A Lift (pictured) and on the lower section of Pollux, about 40 cm of deep, fluffy new snow had accumulated. The clouds began to break apart around 10:30 a.m., and blue skies started to appear.

A staff member told me, “Because we did a good job clearing the underbrush, the snow has settled beautifully. We also cut back trees along the lower Polaris area this summer to widen the forest road, so it’s much easier to ski now.” With beginner runs stretching continuously from the top of the mountain to the base, a solid mix of steep and intermediate terrain, and extended night skiing available until 2 a.m., Kandatsu has plenty to offer again this season!
