Goryu47 REPORT

2025.12.27120 cm / Partly Cloudy

As soon as I pushed off, my heart jumped at that unmistakable powder-snow feel, with my edges slicing cleanly into the snow. Starting at 7:00 a.m. this morning, the Toomi Sky Four Lift began operating, kicking off Sunrise skiing (pictured) at Goryu. In addition, night skiing will start this evening at 6:00 p.m. The dry snow that had been fluttering down in the early morning hours stopped, the clouds in the eastern sky broke apart, and the Toomi Slope was bathed in a warm red glow.

With the Iimori 6th Pair now in operation and the Powder Snow Course (pictured) open for skiing, Hakuba Goryu & Hakuba 47 reached “fully open” status (80% or more of the resort terrain open) starting today, 12/27 (Sat.)! Both the Toomi Slope and the Powder Snow Course were groomed into moderately firm, easy-to-ski powder snow conditions.

Up at Alps Daira, fast-moving clouds overhead brought occasional strong gusts of wind, with sunshine and shadow alternating throughout the day. Along the ungroomed area by the Alps 3rd Pair line (pictured) and on the Technical Course, there was 20 to 25 cm of new snow. It had been packed down slightly, giving it a pleasantly soft, cushioned feel.
[Grand Prix Course]

The Grand Prix Course, Panorama Course, and the upper section of Route 8 (pictured) were groomed with perfectly set, outstanding powder-packed snow surfaces. With 3 to 10 cm of light new snow on top, I was able to link turns exactly as I wanted. Visitor turnout was very strong, and by around 9:00 a.m., short waits of 2 to 3 minutes had begun to form at the Alps 1st Pair and Alps 3rd Pair lifts.
