47PARKS (pictured) was closed for a rebuild on 2/20 (Mon.) and 2/21 (Tue.), but reopened yesterday, 2/22 (Wed.)! Jib elements were added with this rebuild, and the advanced lane now features two consecutive kickers of 13 and 12 meters.

The park elements consist of 22 items: a halfpipe, kickers (13m, 12m, 5m, 7m, 8m, 2m, 2m), rails (7m up, flat-up-flat, round double-down, 10m down, 6m, fatbar up, 5m), boxes (narrow down high, 4m, 6m, 3m down), PVC, triple wave and a wall. The park and all of the elements were in excellent shape.

I watched as advanced skiers and boarders got good speed on their approach, thanks to the well-packed, groomed wet snow surface, and caught big air off the 13-meter kicker. Cheers rose from Line A and Line B lifts, which are the closest to the area, whenever someone sent a big trick off the jumps.

The advanced lane includes challenging elements, such as the flat-up-flat rail (pictured), which climbs against gravity and up a slope. The hard packed, groomed wet snow on Routes 5 and 6 was easy to set my edges and comfortable to ski. On the bottom half of the lower part of Route 1, I had to be careful not to lose my edges on the icy parts of the groomed surface.
