The period just before the rainy season in the HAKUBA VALLEY is one of the most refreshing times of the year, with low humidity and vibrant spring foliage all around. I highly recommend visiting Iwatake Mountain Resort on sunny days during this season, where you can enjoy stunning views of the Ushiro-Tateyama Mountain Range with little effort. At CHUMS Ridge (pictured), four sets of tarps and tables are set up, offering a perfect spot to relax and take in the scenery.

I met a father from Kagawa (pictured, second from left) who told me, “I’ve seen Snownavi before. We drove nine hours to Hakuba on 5/31 (Sat.). The weather over the weekend was less than ideal, but I’m glad it cleared up for our last day! I’d love to come back in winter.” Even with pleasant sunny skies, being a Monday, visitor traffic was slow and relaxed.

On the wooden deck of Chavaty Hakuba (pictured), many visitors were taking commemorative photos with soft serve ice cream or drinks in hand, with the townscape of Hakuba as their backdrop. The number of table sets on the deck has been reduced compared to last year, making it easier to take photos.

This morning, the fresh greenery stood out most vividly as I rode the 5Sen South Lift (pictured). By the way, due to renovation work at the former gondola base station, the ticket center will be relocated to a temporary facility east of Spicy Rental starting on 6/4 (Wed.). The locker room will reopen on 6/5 (Thu.), and the shop will reopen next to the relocated ticket center on 6/6 (Fri.). For restrooms, you can use the facilities at White Plaza and the parking area.
