The Yoo-Hoo! Festival’s main attraction, the live music performances, featured Yu-ka, OCHA NORMA, Wednesday Campanella, Singers High, miwa, Suzune Tsukiyama, Yohei Hashiguchi, Tomomasa Teranaka, Hanako Oku, Yuji Nakada, SCANDAL, and BLUE ENCOUNT on 5/23 (Sat.). On 5/24 (Sun.), the lineup included ISEKI, PARKERS, Harami-chan, SHE’S, GAKU-MC (pictured), Leo Ieiri, Takuya Sugimoto, Chiaki Mayumura, Rake, PES, and Sukima Switch. Despite cloudy skies and periods of light rain, the atmosphere of the festival remained lively throughout the weekend.

This year also saw the debut of the new “Hitotoki-no-Mori Stage” (pictured), where performances alternated with those on the “Yoo-Hoo! Stage” (first photo). In other words, while one artist performed, the next act prepared on the opposite stage, helping the event move along smoothly. The Hitotoki-no-Mori Stage also placed audiences much closer to the performers, allowing ticket holders near the stage to catch the artists’ expressions and even hear their breathing. YouTube sensation Harami-chan performed a four-song medley that included two audience requests she learned by ear on the spot. The largest crowd of the festival gathered during the final performance by Sukima Switch (pictured). During “Zenryoku Shonen,” ISEKI, GAKU-MC, PES, and Rake also joined the stage, combining for an energetic finale worthy of the closing act.

Food trucks (pictured) lined the route from the trail junction toward Nezuko-no-Mori down to just below HAKUBA MOUNTAIN HARBOR, serving jerk chicken sandwiches, noodles, galettes, hamburgers, gapao rice, lamb curry, crepes, and more. Booths selling artist merchandise and CDs also surrounded the Yoo-Hoo! Stage area.
