When you cross the bridge at HAKUBA MOUNTAIN HARBOR, and pass through the building, you find the Northern Alps unfolding dramatically before you. Today I met two visitors from Saitama Prefecture (pictured) who told me, “Yesterday we visited Kamikochi, and today we came to Hakuba. It’s our first time in both places, and the scenery has been absolutely breathtaking! Even when the sun feels hot, the air is dry and refreshing, so it’s very comfortable.”

The blue skies, towering summer clouds, and deep green mountains combined to form the perfect summer scene! I overheard other visitors exclaiming things like, “Amazing!” and “What an incredible view!” By the way, tickets for the popular “Yoo-Hoo! Swing” (pictured) are sold for designated time slots at the ticket machine beside the Summit Guide Center, allowing visitors to enjoy the attraction with almost no waiting.

The sound of children laughing filled the air around the Sky Trampoline (pictured) on the lawn in front of Skyark. Adults can join in too, provided they weigh no more than 60 kg and are age 60 or younger. The attraction is open daily through 8/31 (Mon.). (※Approximately three minutes; JPY1,500 per session.)

The new “Hakuba Morikaze Picnic”, launched on 7/29 (Wed.), offers everything you need for a stylish picnic without bringing a thing. Reserve by 4 p.m. the previous day, then collect a basket containing sandwich ingredients and a coffee set upon arrival. Guests can enjoy the experience on a beautifully styled wooden deck designed to make the occasion feel extra special. Two visitors from Nagano City (pictured) told me, “The tents, rugs, and decorations are all so charming!”
