Happo-one REPORT

2024.01.03125cm / Mostly Cloudy

There was little fresh snowfall across the country during the 2023-2024 season’s year end and New Year holiday period. (*The top 5 resorts still only have bases around 200cm.) If you have been following our reports, you’ll know the four areas across Happo that have ample snow cover are the Kurobishi Slope (pictured), Usagidaira Slope, Panorama Course, and Skyline Course. Furthermore, you can enjoy skiing on both groomed and ungroomed sections of these four slopes!
[Kurobishi Slope]

I was able to ski at a good speed along the Kurobishi Quad (pictured) and on the southern route of Usagidaira thanks to the well-packed, groomed wet snow surface. In the ungroomed areas along the Alpen Quad and Kurobishi 3 Pair, there were medium to large sized, hard packed moguls. There was almost no wait for the lifts in the morning, so I was able to concentrate fully on skiing and enjoy the pleasant morning with soft sunlight.
[Kurobishi Slope]

The Panorama Course was groomed with a firm wet snow surface that stretched to the middle of the course (pictured), while the steep slope at the end was groomed with and even harder wet snow surface. In other news, a free DJ event is held every weekend starting at noon at the Usagidaira Terrace’s Oakley Terrace area. The next event will be held on 1/6 (Sat.).
[Panorama Course]

I exchanged pleasantries with a father from Aichi Prefecture (pictured), who told me, “I love your site. Happy New Year.” I was able to enjoy runs on the Skyline Course as well. The center of the course was groomed with well-packed wet snow, although there were small clumps of snow on the surface toward the end. As for the lower slopes, the Sakka Slope and Shirakaba Slope are now ungroomed except for a narrow groomed section on the south side of the Sakka Slope.
