Hakuba Norikura REPORT

2024.03.22270cm / Sunny

This morning I headed to the No. 11 Pair (pictured) to take advantage of this bluebird powder day. Use of the No. 11 Pair had been restricted to sightseeing since 2/23 (Fri.), but has been open to skiers and snowboarders once more since 3/6 (Wed.). The temperature this morning was cooler than when I visited on Valentine’s Day, and the amount of snow had increased, giving the scenery a more an even more wintery feel.

This morning I met two people from Tokyo who told me, “We love your site. The snow is so good that it’s hard to believe it’s March. This is our third time to ride the No. 11 Pair.” A lot of people were on the No. 11 Pair this morning, so much so that it was hard to find any open chairs. (Unfortunately, I was the only one who rode the lift back down.) A group of people boarding through the trees (pictured) told me the were fans of Snownavi as they slid past.

Incidentally I had a hard time walking since my feet were sinking down into the more than 30 cm of snow around the landing area of the No. 11 Pair. I spoke with two people from Kanagawa and Toyama Prefectures (pictured), who remarked, “We always check Snownavi! We crossed over from Cortina and made our way to the No. 11 pair for the first time via the Sky View Slope.”
