Tsugaike REPORT

2025.12.05100 cm / Snowy

After two straight nights of heavy snowfall—and with noticeably less wind impact than elsewhere—Tsugaike Mountain Resort became the first in the HAKUBA VALLEY to hit a 100 cm snowpack! I ran into a skier from Ikeda Town in Nagano Prefecture (pictured) who told me, “I always follow Snownavi! I’m a HAKUBA VALLEY season pass holder, and today is already my fourth day skiing at Tsugaike.”

The terrain along the Han-no-ki High-Speed Pair, which opened to skiers today (pictured, first photo), offered easy, enjoyable conditions: about half of the area was groomed with moderately soft, powdery snow topped with roughly 10 cm of fluff. The other half, left ungroomed, held about 25 cm of fresh snow. And over in the ungroomed section of Tsuga-no-mori (pictured), skiers were treated to an impressive 40 cm of deep, fluffy powder!

A snowboarder from Saitama Prefecture told me, “I always check your Instagram. Getting to enjoy this much fresh snow on my very first day of the season has my stoke level through the roof!” On the moderately soft, groomed section of Tsuga-no-mori, about 20 cm of new snow had also accumulated. As dense, dry flakes continued to fall, the lower part of Han-no-ki (pictured) and the end of Shirakaba were turning just as white as the upper slopes.

At the base area, Rental Shop SPICY (pictured) and the adjoining shop inside Village Tsugaike, along with TSUGA BASE in Tsugaike Yokocho, have all been open since the resort’s first day of operations. SPICY carries everything from kids’ and beginner-friendly gear to high-performance models, while the neighboring shop offers goggles, knit hats, gloves, and other essential accessories you can pick up on the spot.
