Boasting an impressive amount of sunshine (80%!), Shirakabako Royal Hill woke up this morning to mostly clear skies, with just a few of yesterday’s snow clouds lingering overhead. After parking at the No. 3 lot midway up the mountain and walking along the Raicho Course (pictured), I found 5 to 10 cm of slightly moist new snow underfoot. The Panorama A, B, and C courses had the same snow quality and depth.

Thanks to the extensive use of snowmaking machines, the resort is once again expected to open the lower north-facing slopes along the No. 1 Quad (750 m) first. This season, Royal Hill will also continue its popular Kids Plus Premium program, where, for every lift ticket purchased by a junior high school student or older, you’ll receive two complimentary lift tickets valid for elementary school students. The adult advance discount 1-day lift tickets available on Snownavi through 11/30 are also eligible for Kids Plus Premium!
