Happo-one REPORT

2023.02.07290cm / Partly Cloudy

Early today, I had a conversation with a skier from Tokyo (pictured), who told me, “I love your site. I bought a season ticket for Happo this year because of the low price. ¥36,000 for those 39 years old or younger is too good a deal to pass up.” By the way, spring season tickets, which are valid from 3/1 (Wed.) to 5/7 (Sun.), are ¥44,000. That means even now if you are between 18 and 39 years old, the Adult “B” Season Ticket is definitely a better deal than the Spring Season Ticket.
[Panorama Course]

It seems we’ve now emerged from the peak of the cold mid-winter season (although it was warm from 1/13 to 1/15) and have now entered the late-winter period with a mix of cold and warm days. Yet, the powder snow conditions on the groomed slopes across the upper half of the ski area are still preserved, and today the Panorama Course, the southern route of Usagidaira, the area along the Kurobishi 2 Quad (pictured), and the Skyline Course had nice, moderately firm and very easy to ski surfaces!
[Kurobishi Slope]

HAPPO PARKS (pictured), which opened right on time at today at 9:00 a.m., also had pleasant powder snow conditions. Speaking of which, HAPPO PARKS will finally have its grand opening this weekend on 2/11 (Sat.)! (*The area will be closed for the three days prior, from 2/8 (Wed.) to 2/10 (Fri.), due to renewal work in preparation for the Saturday opening.) An opening event will be held the next day, on 2/12 (Sun.).
[Kitaone 3 Slope]

The Kitaone forest road had a hard, groomed, wet snow surface, while the groomed wet snow on the Sakka Slope and Sakka Wave had a powdery feel. In both cases, conditions were good for skiing, and I was able to link controlled, comfortable turns. The early morning clouds began to dissipate around the time of the resort’s opening, blue skies began to spread overhead, and it soon became a mild, sunny day with no wind.
