On 10/23 (Thu.), the Kofu District Meteorological Observatory announced the first snow of the season on Mt. Fuji (3,776 m), while snowfall was also confirmed on Mt. Iwaki (1,625 m) and Mt. Gassan (1,984 m). This year’s first snow on Mt. Fuji came 21 days later than average (10/2) but 15 days earlier than last year (11/7). For Mt. Iwaki, the snow came 2 days later than both the average and last year (10/21), while Mt. Gassan’s was 3 days later than average (10/20) and 2 days later than last year (10/21).
*On 10/22 (Wed.), rime ice was observed on Shiga Kogen’s Mt. Iwasuge (2,295 m) and Mt. Shiga (2,037 m).
