Starting yesterday the season’s first strong cold front brought fresh snowfall to the Myoko area, leaving everything down to the base covered in white by the morning of 11/19 (Wed.). A light layer of snow also accumulated on the surrounding roads, but driving was no issue with winter tires. Flurries continued on and off until around 8 a.m., when the snow eased and blue skies began to open up overhead.

Myoko Suginohara boasted the largest vertical drop in Japan for the 2024–25 season, and was fully blanketed from top to bottom this morning! On the lower slopes, including the end section of the Shirakaba Course (pictured) and the Family R Course, about 20 cm of slightly moist new snow had accumulated. Digging beneath the surface revealed that the ground underneath had already frozen.
