The first snowfall of the season arrived at Hakuba Cortina Ski Resort 8 days earlier than the season before last and 4 days earlier than last season, coating the Mt. Hieda Forest and Ridge courses, the upper sections of Mt. Hieda 1 to 3, the early part of Itadaira, and the top portion of Giant in white. With the resort area at the base right at the peak of the autumn colors, the contrast of fresh snow against the deep reds and yellows made for an incredible sight.
