The 16th Annual Slope Jack event at Tsugaike Mountain Resort is taking place on 1/17 (Sat.) and 1/18 (Sun.). With around 140 participants in total, the Kane-no-naru-oka slope had a completely different atmosphere today. I met a large group of participants from Hyogo, Fukui, Aichi, Niigata, and Gunma Prefectures (pictured) who told me, “We always follow Snownavi! We’re a multinational crew that’s gathered from all over Japan. We’re also planning to take part in the same event at Iwatake on 3/7 (Sat.) and 3/8 (Sun.).”

I also had a conversation with a family from Shizuoka Prefecture (pictured) who commented, “We always read your reports! We played on Hakuba Tsugaike WOW!’s Amidas activity in summer, and this was our first sled tour—it was a lot of fun.” SNOW WOW! offers a variety of snow activities, and this snowmobile sled tour departs from in front of the Snow Plaza as shown, loops twice around the pond behind Eden, and then returns to the starting point.

Three visitors from Aichi Prefecture (pictured) who were riding Snowdrives on the Shirakaba Slope commented, “We bought our Snowdrives through an overseas online shop about seven or eight years ago. Tsugaike is great because there’s so much terrain you can ride.” At Tsugaike, all courses are open to Snowdrives, Snow Bockerl, Snowmoto, Snowscoot, Snowskate, Trike Ski Scooters, and Ski Bikes.

After some time on the snow, it’s nice to warm up with a bowl of “Beef Pho” (pictured, ¥1,500) at Pho Thin Tokyo Tsugaike, located in the Yuki-no-hiroba area around the gondola mid-station. The gently simmered broth was rich with beef-bone flavor, and the smooth rice noodles paired perfectly with the soup. You can also add spices to adjust the flavor to your liking.
