Nomugitoge REPORT

2026.01.2385 cm / Mostly Sunny

Nomugitoge Ski Resort, which opened on 12/20 (Sat.), has been operating under “mostly open” status (more than 50% of runs open)” since 1/9 (Fri.). I spoke with a couple from Aichi Prefecture (pictured), who told me, “We often check Snownavi when updates show up on X. This is our fourth year as Nomugitoge season pass holders. The lifts are fast and efficient, there are lots of steep pitches, and it’s never crowded, which is why we like it so much.”
[Family Slope]

With a vertical drop of 730 m, a long run of 4 km, and a course layout centered on intermediate to advanced terrain, the specs are solid. While the reported base depth is 85 cm, steady snowmaking that takes advantage of the consistently low temperatures has paid off, and the open runs were finished to a surprisingly high standard today. I skied Panorama (pictured), which is located alongside the Skyliner Quad (1,600 m), then Tate-mizu no Saka, and down to the Family Slope, enjoying flat, smooth groomers with packed, slightly moist snow that still had a powdery feel. There were no bushes showing anywhere on the runs.

On the Champion Course (pictured) and Rabbit Course, the well-compacted groomed snow was wet but had a powdery feel, and carving turns came together cleanly. In the ungroomed areas—Champion 2, Yuriwari, and Mine-no-hara—a few bushes were still showing. Also worth noting, an “Enjoy Parallel Slalom” event will be held on the Training Slope starting at 9:30 a.m. on 1/25 (Sun.), with participation free of charge.

For lunch, I stopped at Restaurant Jukai, located at an elevation of 1,827 m, and ordered the Crab Cream Croquette Curry (pictured, ¥1,500, A large portion of rice is available for an extra ¥200.), upgrading to a large portion of rice for an additional ¥200. The rich, house-made curry is simmered for about five hours and made with plenty of beef and locally grown Shinshu vegetables. The gentle spice, balanced heat, and creamy crab croquettes came together nicely and made for a satisfying meal. I was also told that the standalone crab cream croquettes, priced at ¥600 for two, are a popular menu item.
