Kashimayari REPORT

2025.12.2250 cm / Snow Clouds

In addition to the 2nd Pair and 6th Quad, the 5th Pair and 7th Pair began operating on 12/20 (Sat.), opening up Course 5-A, 5-B, the Maruyama Slope (pictured), and the Ippon Buna Downhill for skiers and snowboarders. However, due to the warm weekend temperatures and yesterday’s rain, the 5th Pair was suspended again starting today. The 7th Pair was still running, but patches of grass and brush were visible in places on the firm, ungroomed Maruyama Slope (pictured).

So for now, the most enjoyable skiing and riding was limited to two runs: the Kurosawa Slope and the lower section of Course 1-C (pictured). I met a pair visiting from Matsumoto City, with one of them telling me, “I’ve seen the Snownavi site before. I (pictured, right) haven’t been to Kashimayari in a few years, and my girlfriend (pictured, left) is snowboarding for the first time in three years, so she’s basically back to being a beginner.” Both groomed runs offered firm, well-packed snow conditions. (Ippon Buna was closed today).

At the main Red Cedar restaurant (pictured) on the 2nd floor of Central Plaza 1130’s West Wing, most of the tables are wrapped with Pokémon designs. Here, you can also enjoy one of Nagano’s soul foods: the “Sanzoku Curry” topped with sanzoku-yaki-style fried chicken (¥1,600) and the “Sanzoku Tartar Bowl” (¥1,500).

The “Pokémon Oasis” family-priority seating area (pictured), located in a corner of Red Cedar, is equipped with bench seating and baby chairs, making it easy for families with small children to use. I was told that the kids’ menu option, the “Kids’ Plate” (¥1,000, omu-rice or curry), is especially popular on weekends.
