Kashimayari REPORT

2026.01.1880 cm / Snow Clouds

A “FACTION Demo Event” was held in front of Central Plaza 1130 over two days on 1/17 (Sat.) and 1/18 (Sun.). (Starting at 9 a.m., free to join, ID required). I spoke with a staff member (pictured) who told me, “Please feel free to try next season’s models. Registration is via QR code, and if you add us on LINE, you can also check out the catalog for next season’s lineup.”

During the event, a full lineup of 40 FACTION skis from the 2026–27 season were available to demo. A man visiting from Tokyo who took part told me, “I always check Snownavi! I’m staying at Hotel Keisui in Omachi’s Onsenkyo area and came out to ski. I’m thinking about buying new skis, so I wanted to check how the latest models feel on snow.”

I crossed paths with a family visiting from Shiojiri City (pictured) who commented, “We came here as a big group of three families. Even though the kids are all different ages, everyone is enjoying themselves, which is great.” With it being “Ski Kids’ Day,” where elementary school students ride the lifts for free, the slopes were noticeably busier than a typical weekend with families out enjoying the snow.

On Course 1-A, the Kurosawa Slope, and the Ippon Buna Downhill Course, the firm groomed wet snow allowed skis and boards to glide smoothly. Snow Park DSP (pictured) was open on the Nakatsuna Slope, and featured a narrow box, thick round rail, another narrow box, a 6m single rail, base remnants, a black PVC pipe, a flat-up rail, and more, along with a hike-up park lined with additional boxes, PVC features, and rails.
