HAPPO PARKS (pictured) underwent major reshaping work from 2/18 (Wed.) to 2/20 (Fri.), and held its grand re-opening today at 9:00 a.m. I spoke with one of the diggers who told me, “We gathered snow from other areas and upgraded the features so more people can enjoy the park. To everyone reading Snownavi, please come check it out!”

This morning, the snow surface inside the park was moderately firm groomed powder. Kickers, banks, and waves were laid out in a well-balanced flow, making it fun to search out your own line. At 10:00 a.m., the opening event “MUGEN LINE” got underway, featuring a freeride contest and sessions with guest riders (※free participation).

The Panorama Course (pictured), the south side route of Usagidaira, the slope along the Kurobishi Quad, and the Skyline Course all had moderately firm groomed powder as well. I met a skier who said, “I was worried after yesterday’s warm temperatures, but the slopes are in great shape. First tracks on Panorama were unbelievably good!”

Rewinding to the start of the morning, I had a conversation with a skier from Shizuoka Prefecture who commented, “I always read your reports. I saw the sunny forecast and decided to try HAPPO First Tracks for the first time. Riesen Slalom was incredibly smooth and felt amazing!” The first day of the three-day weekend delivered excellent snow quality and calm, sunny skies.

＊The 80th edition of the legendary Riesen Slalom Competition, will be held on 2/26 (Thu.) & 2/27 (Fri.). In addition, “THE BEARS JAPAN” FIS FAR EAST CUP HAKUBA 2026 will be held on the same course from 2/28 (Sat.) to 3/5 (Thu.).
