With a combined slope area of 380 hectares, Joetsu Kokusai Ski Resort boasts the largest single ski area in Japan, while Iwappara Ski Resort—just five minutes from the Yuzawa I.C.—offers wide-open runs and great accessibility. The advance-discount 1-day ticket, valid at either resort and including night skiing, is a fantastic deal at JPY3,600 for adults and JPY1,900 for “juniors” (ages 3 to 12). Both resorts also feature fun weekend family events such as “Snowfield Sports Day” and the “Kids Triathlon.”
